Details
Gary established STC safeguarding Ltd with particular emphasis on raising awareness of Child Sexual exploitation (CSE) and how to recognise the signs of exploitation though the delivery of awareness training to professional and commercial bodies.
Gary is passionate about Safeguarding Children from Abuse and Exploitation. Gary has over 35 years of Policing experience, spanning 4 Police Forces across the UK.
Gary has extensive experience working in the arena of public protection, safeguarding and exploitation of children. He has established representation at national level. He has a wealth of experience working with and influencing change with agencies in Health, Social care, Education and out in the community.
Outside of work, he and his wife have raised 4 children and understands teenage development, as well as vulnerability that any young person has to exploitation. In his spare time, he has a passion for fitness and is a qualified Ski instructor who loves spending time on the slopes.
In last role Gary worked in a specialist multi agency team combating CSE within Northamptonshire Police with an agreed partnership approach to preventing and combatting child exploitation with clear strategies in place to tackle extra familial harm keeping the child at the centre of all safeguard plans.
Child exploitation is on the increase and should be high on everyone's safeguarding agenda recognising the importance of picking up on concerns and spotting indicators which is often a hidden crime and knowing what to do with them.
In his last role within the Police, Gary was responsible for delivering awareness training to internal and external professionals within Health, Social care, Education, and other commercial organisations.
He is also a national qualified educational trainer as well as a qualified Ski teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience.
Whilst delivering training to professional bodies it became apparent that there was and still is a need for education and awareness training to wider audiences in respect of Child exploitation.
To address this need Gary set up his company STC to meet the demands of the private sector as well as the public sector as Police and other agencies are unable to meet those needs fully due to the resources and demands on their services.
STC has several training packages both Online and in person designed and accredited that can be tailored to meet the needs of clients.
Gary is passionate about raising awareness throughout all society so that everybody knows that safeguarding a child against abuse is everyone's responsibility.
